Breaking: Okpebholo emerges Edo governor-elect as INEC announces results
The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Monday Okpebholo, has been declared winner of the Edo State governorship election held on Saturday.
According to results announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Sunday, Okpebholo secured 291,667 votes, winning in 11 of the state’s 18 local government areas.
His closest competitor, Asue Ighodalo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), received 247,655 votes. Olumide Akpata of the Labour Party (LP) finished third with 22,763 votes.
