OIC denounces killing of Turkish-US activist in West Bank
The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has spoken out against the killing of Turkish-American activist Aysenur Eygi, 26, during a peaceful protest in the occupied West Bank.
In a statement released on Saturday, the OIC held Israeli occupation forces responsible for what it described as an ongoing campaign of genocide against Palestinian citizens.
The statement also condemned the killing of 13-year-old Bana Amjad Bakr by Israeli settlers in Qaryut, near Nablus, under the protection of Israeli security forces. The OIC called the incident a blatant violation of international and humanitarian laws.
The organization urged the UN Security Council and the international community to intervene to stop the ongoing violence against Palestinians in both the West Bank and Gaza Strip, emphasizing the need for an immediate ceasefire.
It also stressed the urgency of resolving the issue of illegal Israeli settlements and the occupation of Palestinian territories.
