Breaking: Dangote refinery to flood market with petrol in 48 hours, Aliko Dangote declares
Aliko Dangote, President of Dangote Group, announced on Tuesday that petrol from the company’s newly operational 650,000-barrels-per-day refinery in Lagos will hit the Nigerian market within 48 hours, pending collaboration with the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL).
In an interview with Channels Television, Dangote, Africa’s richest man, confirmed the refinery’s first petrol rollout and expressed optimism about finalising talks with NNPCL to ensure timely distribution of the product to Nigerians.
The $20 billion refinery is poised to revolutionise Nigeria’s petroleum landscape, and Dangote’s assurance has sparked hopes of improved fuel availability and reduced prices in the country.
Dangote said, “The PMS can be on filling stations in the next 48 hours, depending on NNPCL.
Speaking on the price of the much-demanded commodity, Dangote said “it is an arrangement that is designed and approved by the Federal Executive Council led by His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. As soon as it is finalised, which is what he is pushing once he finishes with FEC meeting, it can be today or tomorrow we are ready to roll out in the market.”
