Kwara govt launches girl child education awareness campaign ahead of new academic session

In a bid to prioritize girls’ education and promote gender equality, the Kwara State government has initiated a comprehensive awareness campaign, highlighting the significance of educating the girl child.
Led by Hon. Joana Nnazua Kolo, Adviser to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq on Girl Child Education, the campaign kicked off on August 16, 2024, in Kwara North, drawing attendance from parents, children, teachers, traditional rulers, and government officials.
“Education can usher in better career opportunities and improved social status for the girl child,” Hon. Kolo emphasized, addressing the gathering. She urged parents and guardians to prioritize their daughters’ education, stressing its transformative impact on individuals, families, and society at large.
The campaign aims to promote girls’ access to quality education, challenge gender stereotypes, and empower future leaders.
As the new academic session approaches, the Kwara State government reaffirms its commitment to bridging the gender gap in education, fostering a more inclusive and equitable learning environment.
