Jigawa: Minister of Defence donates large cash to support flood relief efforts
The Nigerian Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru, has provided N20 million in aid to the Jigawa State Government to support flood relief efforts for affected residents.
During a condolence visit to Governor Umar Namadi, Mr. Badaru expressed his sympathies for the devastating flood that resulted in the loss of life and property.
According to a statement by the Ministry of Defence’s Director of Information and Public Relations, Henshaw Ogubike, the Minister also acknowledged the widespread destruction of farmlands caused by the severe flooding
He reassured the Federal Government’s commitment to assisting the state during the challenging period, noting that the donation was his personal gesture of solidarity and compassion to the state.
Mr Badaru further appreciated the Jigawa State governor for providing swift response to the flood crisis.
He said, “Your prompt action in providing relief to the flood victims is commendable.’’
