Emir of Ningi, Dr. Yunusa Muhammadu Dan Yaya, dies after medical trip to Saudi Arabia
The Emir of Ningi, Ningi, Bauchi State, Dr. Yunusa Muhammadu Dan Yaya, has passed away.
Reports say he departed this world on Sunday morning at the Expert Alliance Hospital in Kano State.
His demise occurred just 48 hours after returning from a medical trip to Mecca, Saudi Arabia, on Thursday, August 22, 2024.
A statement by Usman Sule, Secretary of Ningi Emirate Council, said the funeral prayer for the deceased will be held by 4 p.m. on Sunday at the Emir’s Palace in Ningi.
Born in 1936, the late emir had an illustrious working career before ascending the throne in 1978.
Ningi is among the six emirates in Bauchi State. The others are Bauchi, Katagum, Misau, Jama’are, and Dass.
