The Lagos State University (LASU) management has rescheduled exams previously set for August 20, following the Lagos State government’s declaration of the day as a public holiday to commemorate Isese Day.

The affected papers are part of the ongoing second-semester examinations, which will now take place on a new date to be announced.

This was contained in a statement signed on Monday by the Coordinator, Centre for Information and Public Relations Mrs Oluwayemisi Thomas-Onashile.

“The Lagos State Government in a circular with reference number: CIR/HoS/’24/Vol.1/066 and dated 19th August 2024 signed by the Head of Service, Mr Bode Agoro, has declared Tuesday, 20th August 2024, a work-free day, in order to commemorate the Year 2024 ‘Isese Day’.

“In compliance with the above directive, the Lagos State University Management has therefore directed all staff (Teaching and Non-Teaching) to observe Tuesday, 20th August 2024, as Work-Free Day, and resume work on Wednesday, 21st August 2024 at 8:00 a.m. prompt.

The statement added that “Students and other concerned members of the university are to also note that by this directive, there will be no examinations on Tuesday, 20th August 2024. The 2023/2024 second semester examination timetable has, therefore, been adjusted to end on 17th September, 2024 as against 15th September, 2024.”
