Council of State Meeting gets scathing review from Sowore, says its “Failure meeting with failure”
Omoyele Sowore, a prominent activist and politician, has weighed in on the recent meeting between President Bola Tinubu and his predecessor, Muhammadu Buhari, at the Council of State meeting in Abuja’s Presidential Villa.
Sowore, who previously ran for president under the African Action Congress (AAC), disparaged the meeting as a gathering of “failures”.
The meeting saw physical attendance from former presidents Goodluck Jonathan and Muhammadu Buhari, while former military heads of state Yakubu Gowon and Abdulsalami Abubakar participated virtually.
Former President Olusegun Obasanjo, was noticeably absent from the Council of State meeting, failing to attend either physically or online.
This meeting, held on Tuesday, was particularly significant as it was the first Council of State meeting presided over by President Bola Tinubu since his inauguration.
Commenting on the meeting on X, Sowore wrote: “Failure meeting with failure.
“Today in Abuja at the Presidential Villa, a former failed President @MBuhari had a meeting with the current failed President @officialABAT.”
