Osun State Muslim Community mourns demise of Elder Adepoju
The Osun State Muslim Community has expressed its deepest sorrow at the demise of Alhaji Muhammad Jamiu Ishola Adepoju, a revered elder, leader, and one of the foremost Yoruba Muslim activists.
Afri Reporters earlier reported that Alhaji Adepoju departed this world on August 11, 2024, at the age of 89. His death marks a significant loss to the entire Muslim Ummah in Osun State and beyond.
The condolence message was contained in a statement signed by its President, Mustafa Olawuyi.
Olawuyi described the late elder as a symbol of justice, truth, and unwavering commitment to the cause of Islam.
“Throughout his life, he tirelessly championed the principles of faith, making immense contributions to the growth and unity of the Muslim community in Nigeria,” said Olawuyi.
He noted that his legacy is deeply embedded in the numerous Islamic organizations he co-founded, such as the Muslim Students Society of Nigeria (MSSN), through which he promoted Islamic values and advocated for the rights and welfare of Muslims.
The Osun State Muslim Community, on behalf of the entire Muslim Ummah in Osun State, extends its heartfelt condolences to the family of Alhaji Muhammad Jamiu Ishola Adepoju.
The Muslim community prays that Allah (SWT) grants him Al-Jannah Firdaus, forgives his shortcomings, and provides his family with the strength to bear this loss with patience and faith.
“May his soul rest in eternal peace, and may his legacy continue to inspire us all,” said Olawuyi.
