Agricultural Boom: Niger State cultivates maize, rice, more on 250,000 hectares
Niger State, through its initiative Niger Foods, is making significant strides in agriculture by cultivating maize, rice, millet, soybeans, sorghum, and sesame across approximately 250,000 hectares of land.
This extensive agricultural project spans various locations including Bobi Grazing Reserve, Durgu, Funfuwa, Tegina, and Wushishi.
The initiative has garnered widespread commendation from the public, with many expressing pride and support for the governor’s efforts to boost agriculture. However, concerns about the safety of farmers and the need for more resources, such as fertilizers, have also been highlighted.
Dangana Mahmud said, “May Almighty Allah guide you, our dear governor.”
Aya Kere reacted, “Ma shaa Allah, but what are the benefits for poor farmers?”
Iguda A Abba stated, “Bago is doing an excellent job in the agriculture sector. May Allah continue to bring peace so that you can do more.”
Sallau Kafi said, “Masha Allah, this is a welcome development. How I wish all the governors could do something like this.”
Dalha Danmadamee wrote, “But farmers are not safe at their various farms; they are suffering from banditry activities.”
