Iseyin blood bath: Sanusi Lafiagi demands justice after Pastor allegedly attacks man, pregnant Niqabi wife on Eid Day

Dr Sanusi Lafiagi, a lecturer at the Department of  Islamic Studies,  Al-Hikmah University, has called on the Muslim community to rise and ensure that justice is served following a disturbing incident that occurred on Eid day at Oke Imuse, Iseyin, where the pastor of Christ Apostolic Church allegedly attacked and injured two veiling Muslim women, one of whom was pregnant.

The incident has sparked outrage in the Muslim community, with demands for swift action against the perpetrators.

The Islamic scholar in a post on Facebook on Saturday morning, emphasised that the police must not compromise on the case and urged Muslim lawyers to take swift action to bring the culprits to book.

He wrote: “The pastor of Christ Apostolic Church, Oke Imuse, Iseyin, attacked and wounded a brother and two Niqābites one of whom was pregnant on Eid day. The Muslim community must rise to the occasion and ensure that all the culprits are brought to book. The police must not compromise on this case at all. Muslim lawyers should act swiftly to ensure that justice is served on all the criminal elements who perpetrated this crime!”

The incident has raised concerns about religious tensions in the community and the need for peaceful coexistence.

The Muslim community is seeking swift justice and calling on the authorities to take concrete steps to prevent such incidents in the future.

The police have also been urged to investigate the matter thoroughly and ensure that all those responsible are held accountable.
