Video: “Marry two women simultaneously if…”, Islamic scholar advises young men
In a recent video that has sparked widespread discussion, a Lagos-based Islamic scholar, Shaykh Imran Eleha, has suggested a bold recommendation to young Muslim men. The vocal scholar advised that if they are blessed with wealth, good health, and ample time, they should consider marrying two wives at a go.
The Nigerian Muslim scholar emphasised that this approach is particularly helpful for those entering into their first marriage.
The scholar’s message is directed specifically at young men who have the means to support more than one wife. He highlighted that having sufficient resources is crucial in ensuring the well-being and happiness of both wives. According to his advice, the combination of financial stability, physical health, and the ability to dedicate time to family life creates an ideal environment for managing a polygamous relationship.
The head of Daru’ Naim said in the short video, “What is best for a Muslim (man) if God has blessed you, listen oh you the young ones! If you’re blessed with wealth, good health, and enough time, please marry two wives. If you want to marry for the first time, marrying two at a go is the best.”
This recommendation has sparked mixed reactions within the Muslim community and beyond. While some see it as a practical suggestion rooted in Islamic teachings, others view it as controversial and challenging to modern marital norms.
