The Commander of the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and Chairman of Sudan’s Transitional Sovereign Council, Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, declared on Wednesday that there would be no discussions or ceasefire until the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) are eliminated.

Al Burhan made the declaration while addressing a contingent of army personnel during an inspection in the River Nile state.

In a press release issued by the Sovereign Council, he stated that there will be no negotiations, no peace, and no ceasefire except after defeating the RSF.

Al-Burhan reiterated his solidarity with the troops, emphasizing their role in preserving Sudan’s stability and territorial integrity.

He lauded the support garnered from across Sudanese society for the Popular Resistance, characterizing it as a unified front against the RSF.

The military leader underscored the ongoing efforts to secure victory across Sudan, including in El Geneina, West Darfur, advocating for the complete eradication of the RSF.

These remarks come amidst appeals from regional and international mediators for a resumption of negotiations in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, aimed at resolving the conflict.
