Just in: Abuja court grants ex-Aviation Minister, Sirika, daughter, others N100m bail
A Federal High Court in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, has granted bail to the former Aviation Minister, Hadi Abubakar Sirika after he was dragged to the court by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over alleged corrupt practices involving N4. 135 billion.
Sirika was arraigned before Justice Sylvanus Oriji, alongside his daughter Fatima, his son-in-law Jalal Sule Hamma, and a firm – Al Buraq Global Investment Limited.
The ex-minister, his daughter and son-in-law pleaded not guilty to the six-count charges when read to them.
After they denied the fraud allegations, their separate attorneys filed bail motions, which the judge approved.
The presiding judge accepted the N100M bail for the three accused and two sureties each in the like sum.
The judge also compelled the defendants not to travel abroad without the court’s express permission.
