In a bid to revolutionize agricultural trade in Ethiopia, TradeMark Africa (TMA), formerly TradeMark East Africa, has expressed enthusiasm for the collaborative effort between the body and the Ethiopian Agricultural Authority.

The TMA Ethiopia Country Director, Ewnetu Taye said the initiative aims to usher in an era of digital transformation, setting a new benchmark for agricultural trade not only in Ethiopia but across the African continent.

Taye emphasized the significance of this partnership in establishing a sustainable and inclusive trade environment, with the overarching goal of benefiting the entire region.

Through the adoption of advanced technologies, such as the e-Phyto system, the initiative seeks to enhance efficiency and competitiveness in agricultural trade, ultimately positioning Africa on the global stage with a competitive advantage.

As Ethiopia takes strides towards modernizing its agricultural trade practices, the collaboration among government entities, industry stakeholders, and international partners becomes increasingly pivotal.

This collective effort is vital for ensuring the success and longevity of the digital transition in agricultural trade.

In addition, the empowerment of Ethiopian farmers and exporters stands as a cornerstone of this initiative, with the potential to catalyze economic growth and foster resilience within the agricultural sector.

The ripple effects of this transformation are expected to extend beyond Ethiopia, positively impacting the broader Eastern African region.

By embracing innovation and collaboration, Ethiopia endeavors to lay the groundwork for a more prosperous and sustainable future in agricultural trade, setting a precedent for advancements across the continent.
