Ethiopian president calls for women’s participation in national dialogue
Ethiopian President Sahle-Work Zewde has emphasized the importance of encouraging women to actively engage and include their agenda in the forthcoming National Dialogue, during a national consultative forum aimed at strengthening women’s participation in the dialogue.
In her address at the forum, President Sahle-Work Zewde underscored the inclusive nature of national dialogue, citing its proven effectiveness in various countries.
Sahle-Work highlighted the significance of the dialogue in addressing disputes and conflicts that have arisen within Ethiopia, emphasizing its role in laying a solid foundation for the nation.
The President emphasized that women often bear the brunt of conflicts and are therefore essential participants in the dialogue process.
She called upon women to contribute their ideas and ensure that their agenda is represented in the national dialogue, stating that their perspectives are crucial for addressing the challenges facing the country.
