Nigeria Police break silence on latest violence in Plateau, confirms 11 casualties

The Plateau State Police Command on Friday confirmed the latest violent attacks in Bokkos and Mangu Local Government Areas of the state.

The police, in a statement by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Alfred Alabo, in Jos, the State Capital, said 11 lives were taken in the attacks while three people were left injured.

He assured that the force is working hard to ensure that the ugly trend is halted as soon as possible.

Alabo said, “The Commissioner of Police in Plateau State, Emmanuel Olugbemiga Adesina, paid a visit to Bokkos Local Government Area, and expressed his condolences to the families of the deceased and the good people of Plateau State as a whole.

“The command also wants to inform you that in the recent attack in Mangu local government, 11 people lost their lives, while two also lost their lives and 3 others were left injured in Bokkos local government.

“The CP wants the people of Plateau to know that all hands are on deck to make sure that this menace is nipped in the bud.

“He has already made deployment to those general areas and he has gone to see things for himself.

“The CP has also been briefed on the previous security arrangement and what he needs to do at this particular point in time.

“I can assure you that all have been done regarding this same particular happening in Bokkos and Mangu local governments.

“We are also working with our sister security agencies, to ensure that we nip this in the bud and return back the peace we enjoy on the Plateau”, he explained.
