Ethiopia, India hold talks on space collaboration
Ethiopia and India have engaged in discussions to bolster their longstanding relationship and collaboration in the realm of space science.
The dialogue, which took place in New Delhi, saw the participation of key dignitaries including the Ambassador of Ethiopia to India, Demeke Atnafu, and prominent figures from India’s SatCom Industry Association.
Among the notable attendees from the Indian side were Mr. Amit Prakash, Director General of the SatCom Industry Association, Mr. Rajeev Gambhir, Senior Director, and Mr. K. Anbalagan, Deputy Director.
Together, they explored various avenues for cooperation and partnership in fields such as space research, space startups, the space industry, and space infrastructure, as revealed by the Ethiopian Embassy in New Delhi.
The discussions underscored the mutual interest of both nations in leveraging their expertise and resources to advance space exploration and technology.
Both parties expressed optimism about the potential for fruitful collaboration that could benefit not only their respective countries but also contribute to global advancements in space science.
In a parallel development, Mr. Nebiyu Tedla, the Spokesperson of Ethiopia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, addressed reporters during a press briefing, emphasizing the government’s dedication to supporting Ethiopians facing challenges abroad.
Mr. Nebiyu reiterated Ethiopia’s commitment to its migration initiatives and stressed the importance of international support in this endeavor.
He called upon the global community and partners to enhance their assistance to ensure the well-being and welfare of Ethiopian nationals residing outside the country’s borders.
