Watch out for one-chance robbers, Police tell Nigerians
The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has issued another warning to Nigerians regarding the activities of one-chance robbers across the country.
In a statement posted on its official Facebook page on Monday night, the NPF highlighted a new tactic employed by these criminal elements, known as “Shifting Chair-One Chance.”
The security agency called on passengers to be attentive and watchful to avoid boarding vehicles that are not painted in commercial colours.
The police explain, “It has become vital to intimate members of the public about trending methods adopted by criminals to rob unsuspecting citizens of their possessions. One of such is known as ‘Shifting Chair- One Chance.’
“The Nigeria Police Force advises citizens and other residents in Nigeria to be very watchful and avoid vehicles not marked commercially or without proper identification.”
Nigeria has been struggling with internal security challenges with a sudden rise in cases of kidnapping.
Recall that nearly 300 schoolchildren and others were recently abducted by gunmen in different parts of northern Nigeria with the police and other security agencies promising to rescue the victims and bring the criminals behind the acts to justice.
