U.S. Central Command and the Royal Jordanian Air Force have conducted a combined humanitarian assistance airdrop of over 38,000 meals into Northern Gaza on March 7, 2024, at 3:20 p.m. (Gaza time) to provide essential relief to civilians in Gaza affected by the ongoing conflict.

This was announced in a statement by the U.S. Central Command as part of efforts to ease the sufferings of women and children in the war-torn Palestinian territory.

The statement said, “The combined, joint operation included U.S. Air Force and Jordanian C-130 aircraft and U.S. Army Soldiers specialized in aerial delivery of U.S humanitarian assistance supplies. U.S. C-130s dropped over 38,000 meals, providing life-saving humanitarian assistance in Northern Gaza, to enable civilian access to critical aid.

“The DoD humanitarian airdrops contribute to ongoing U.S. and partner-nation government efforts to alleviate human suffering. These airdrops are part of a sustained effort and we continue to plan follow on aerial deliveries.” It concluded.

The United States recently delivered its first airdrop of humanitarian aid to Gaza, distributing more than 30,000 meals from three military aircrafts.

US transport aircraft C-130 dropped more than 38,000 meals along the Gaza coastline, US Central Command said in a statement.

The operation, carried out in collaboration with Jordan’s air force, was the first of several aid deliveries announced by President Joe Biden.

He promised to increase help after at least 112 people were murdered by Israeli forces while waiting to receive aid.

Israel launched retaliatory offensives to destroy Hamas after its gunmen killed about 1,200 people in southern Israel on 7 October and took 253 back to Gaza as hostages.

According to officials in Gaza, more than 30,000 people, including 21,000 children and women, have been killed in the enclave since then with some 7,000 missing and at least 70,450 injured.
