Breaking: Facebook, Instagram glitches leave thousands in Nigeria, UK, others logged out and frustrated
Thousands of Facebook and Instagram users in Nigeria, the UK and other parts of the world have been hit with glitches as people scramble to find out why they have been shown an error message and logged out of Facebook.
The social media platforms appear affected with technical troubles as users were logged out in thousands across Nigeria.
Error messages including ‘session expired’ were on display before asking users to log back in.
Those who have tried to log in have been told their password is not correct even when it is.
Meta has not issued a statement on why Facebook is down or how long the glitches and outage are expected to last.
On the Nigerian X space, Mark Zuckerberg is currently trending in response to the outage.
The outage has generated over 46 thousands posts in less than one hour.
This is not the first time that the social media giant will be severely affected with technical challenges.
In October 2021, Facebook crashed for several hours and the outage was worldwide.
A Facebook spokesperson said about the shutdown: “We’re aware that some people are having trouble accessing our apps and products.
“We’re working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible, and we apologise for any inconvenience.” possible to debug and restore as fast as possible.”
