Prof. Pantami receives, celebrates Nigerian girl after winning Qur’an recitation competition in Jordan
Professor Isa Ali Pantami, has joined many Nigerians to celebrate the remarkable success of A 19-year-old lady from Gombe State, Hajara Ibrahim Dan’azumi, who emerged as the overall winner of the Women’s International Hashemite Competition for Memorisation of the Holy Qur’an in Jordan.
The Nigerian politician and Islamic cleric, who was minister of Communications and Digital Economy from 2019 to 2023, received the brilliant memoriser in Gombe State, northern Nigeria along with Sarkin Malaman Gombe Alhaji Ahmad Walama, Dr Yagi, Dr Muhammad Bello, and Arch Dahiru Saidu.
Ms Hajara Dan’azumi, a 200-level Botany student at the Gombe State University (GSU), overpowered 40 other competitors from 38 countries to emerge winner at the 18th edition of the competition held in the Kingdom of Jordan.
After being chosen to represent Nigeria at the tournament, the youngster from Abubakar Siddiq Islamiyya School in Gombe defeated all other competitors in the 60 Hizb with Tajwid category.
Professor Pantami extended his sincere commendations to her, acknowledging her remarkable accomplishments with genuine admiration. In a heartfelt gesture, he conveyed his unwavering belief in her potential and encouraged her to continue striving for excellence in all her endeavors. With words of wisdom and reassurance, he emphasized the significance of perseverance and dedication, highlighting the transformative power of steadfast determination in achieving one’s goals.

Introduced in 1993, the competition is among the most established global contests, having drawn 30,000 competitors globally to date, both male and female.
