Reacting to her son’s win, Mrs Ganiyat, said the days before the tournament were not easy but expressed gratitude over Aruna Jr’s bronze medal, stating they were just starting.
The duo are following in the footsteps of their father who has dominated the continent as the best African player in the rectangular table game for years now.
“What a way to end the WTT Youth Contender Villa real! The past few days haven’t been easy, but thank God for the happy ending,” Mrs Ganiyat said.
She added: “@arunaquadrijunior won a bronze medal at the under 11 category at his first WTT appearance. We are just getting started. Coming back stronger, Insha Allah.’’
