Operation SAFE HAVEN triumphs, troops uncover, dismantle illegal rifle fabrication hub in Plateau
In a significant stride towards eliminating criminal elements from the troubled regions of Plateau State, the gallant Troops of Operation SAFE HAVEN, operating under HAKORIN DAMISA IV, successfully raided and dismantled a concealed weapons fabrication factory nestled on a high ground in Pakachi Village, Mangu Local Government Area.
The operation, conducted on challenging mountainous terrain, resulted in the recovery of a cache of illicit firearms and related equipment, highlighting the unwavering commitment of the troops to ensure peace and security in the region.
During the meticulously executed clearance operation, Troops uncovered an isolated structure suspected to be the epicenter of illegal arms production. The facility was operated by Mr. Nuhu Meshack, the alleged owner, who is currently evading authorities. However, the swift action of the troops led to the apprehension of Mr. Tapshak Plangji, a 25-year-old male believed to be deeply involved in the illegal activities at the factory.
A variety of weapons and tools associated with arms production were confiscated during the operation, including 5 AK 47 Rifles, 4 AK 47 Magazines, 11 Rounds of 7.62mm Ammunition, 21 Dane Guns, 4 Revolver Rifles, 11 Pistols with 5 Magazines, and an assortment of drilling equipment, saws, hammers, and other tools used in the illicit manufacturing process.
Among the recovered items were also a Carbide Cylinder with Accessories, 3 Saws, 12 Filing Machines, 4 Hammers, 6 Manual Drilling Machines, 2 Electrically Operated Filing Machines, 2 G-Clamps, a Spraying Machine, and a Tiger Generator. The comprehensive haul is a testament to the scale and sophistication of the illegal arms production operation.
The prime suspect, Mr. Plangji, along with the seized weapons and equipment, is currently under the custody of the troops for further investigation. Meanwhile, intense efforts are underway to locate and apprehend Mr. Meshack, the alleged mastermind behind the clandestine arms production.
