Top officials arrive at Bole International Airport for 44th AU Executive Council session

As preparations intensify for the 44th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council of the African Union, distinguished figures from the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD), Somalia, and Burundi have landed at Bole International Airport, marking the commencement of a crucial diplomatic gathering.

The Executive Secretary of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD), Workneh Gebeyehu, touched down at Bole International Airport today, setting the stage for the upcoming deliberations.

Upon his arrival, Mr. Gebeyehu received a warm welcome from Ethiopia’s Foreign Affairs State Minister, Birtukan Ayano, highlighting the significance of regional collaboration and diplomatic ties.

Additionally, the Acting and State Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Somalia, H.E. Ali Mohamed Omar, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Burundi, H.E. Amb. Albert Shingiro, joined the assembly at Bole International Airport.

The distinguished guests were greeted with courtesy by Mr. Melaku Bedada, the Chief of State Protocol, as they arrived for the 44th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council Meeting.

The presence of such high-profile representatives underscores the importance of the forthcoming Executive Council Session, which is poised to address pressing issues and formulate collaborative strategies for the African Union.
