The civilian coalition Forces for Freedom and Change – Democratic Bloc of Sudan (FFC-DB) has issued a call for a nationwide dialogue among all Sudanese citizens to address the political crisis in Sudan. The chairman of the Forces of National Movement, Prof. El Tijani Sese Mohamed, made the call in Juba.

Prof. El Tijani Sese, who spoke at a news conference following the conclusion of a consultation meeting on Sudanese-Sudanese dialogue in Juba, emphasized  that for any dialogue to yield fruitful results, it must involve representation from all parties and stakeholders.

He cautioned against the exclusion of any political forces or stakeholders, warning that such omissions could impede the quest for a lasting solution and potentially breed dissent.

El Tijani highlighted that the FFC-DB supports the Jeddah platform for negotiations with the military but emphasized that for the Jeddah platform to be effective, the agreements made on May 11th of last year must be honoured to facilitate progress in the ongoing talks.

He pointed out that since the start of the current conflict in Sudan, there has been widespread destruction in the country.

According to him, now is the moment for Sudanese citizens to seek solutions to address the root causes of the conflict, which dates back to the pre-independence era.

Formed in November 2022, the FFC-DB comprises various influential entities, including the Justice and Equality Movement (JEM), the Democratic Justice Alliance, and the mainstream Democratic Unionist Party, among others, which brought together a diverse array of political factions and breakaway groups from mainstream parties.

Currently, a delegation from the FFC-DB is in Juba for peace consultations organized by President Salva Kiir Mayardit.
