Just in: Gambia declares visa-free entry for Saudi citizens
The government of The Gambia has on Wednesday declared a visa-free entry for all Saudi Citizens travelling to West African country.
In a statement made available to Afri Reporters, the The Gambian authorities said the decision was taken based on the excellent relations between the country and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
It added that the move is to encourage and facilitate the entry of Saudi Nationals to The Gambia for investment, trade and tourism among other key sectors.
The statement reads, “The Government of the Republic of The Gambia wishes to announce that, based on the excellent relations between the Republic of The Gambia and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and in pursuit of making all possible efforts to encourage and facilitate the entry of Saudi Nationals to The Gambia for investment, trade and tourism, a decision has been taken to ease entry procedures for all Saudi Citizens travelling to The Gambia.
“The decision would in effect raise the distinctive relations between the two countries and continue to encourage the excellent coordination between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of The Gambia and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to achieve the noble objectives and aspirations of their respective leaders.”
The implementation of the visa-free entry with immediate effect is being announced simultaneously by both countries as is usually done in such cases, the statement concluded.
