Former VP Atiku Abubakar sympathises with victims of Ibadan explosion
Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, has sympathised with the families affected by the Tuesday blast in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
Atiku in a statement on his X page condoled with the state government.
“I wish to express my condolences to the good people and government of Oyo State over the explosion that rocked the capital city of Ibadan late yesterday night.
“While the government continues to provide humanitarian support to victims of the explosion, I commiserate with the families of those who might have lost their lives and property to the explosion.”
Recall that the capital was thrown into panic mode following the explosion that occurred at 7.30p.m. at Dejo Oyelese Street in Old Bodija in Ibadan.
The governor of the state, Seyi Makinde, on Wednesday faulted illegal miners for the blast.
He said two persons died and 77 others were injured in the incident.
However, local reports suggested that nearly a dozen have succumbed to their injuries compared to just two as reported by the government.
