Seven Nigerian main oil dealers secure approval to lift fuel from Dangote refinery
The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has registered the seven main oil marketers in Nigeria to lift and distribute refined petroleum products at the $20 billion facility.
Chief Executive Officer Clement Isong of the Major Oil Marketers Association of Nigeria (MOMAN) said upon registration, fuel products from the facility would start as soon as the commercial arrangements were worked out.
This came as the President of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria IPMAN, Abubakar Maigandi, also revealed that they would meet with the management of the Dangote refinery this week to discuss terms of product loading.
In a similar development, the Petroleum Products Retail Outlets Owners Association of Nigeria President, PETROAN, Billy Gillis-Harry, has announced that PETROAN had been engaging the management of the multi-billion dollar refinery for the supply of products from the facility.
The seven major marketers include 11 Plc, Conoil Plc, Ardova Plc, MRS Oil Nigeria Plc, OVH Energy Marketing Limited, Total Nigeria Plc and NNPC Retail.
With the commencement of the operation of the Dangote refinery, it is anticipated that Nigeria’s and the West African countries’ problems with fuel supply will be eased with time.
The refinery, according to the company, will meet 100% of the Nigerian requirement for all refined products and also have a surplus of each of these products for export.
It added that the petroleum refinery project will create a market for $21 billion per year of Nigerian crude. It is designed to process Nigerian crude, with the ability to also process other crudes.
