‘Gov Uzodinma blocking Nnamdi Kanu’s release’, family alleges

The family of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has accused Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State and his allies in the Southeast of blocking the release of the Biafra agitator, who is still in detention at the secret police.

Kanunta, the younger brother of the IPOB leader, expressed disappointment over why President Bola Tinubu allowed Uzodinma to stop the release of the Biafra leader.

Kanu has been detained by the Department of State Services on the directive of the Nigerian government since his arrest in Kenya and extraordinary rendition to Nigeria in 2021.

On his allegation on Governor Uzodinma, Kanunta wrote on X: “@Govhopeuzodinma is the one blocking the release of #MaziNnamdiKanu from DSS dungeon with few of his friends in SE and my question to @officialABAT is Gov Uzodinma the president of Nigeria or is your government benefitting from the insecurity in SE through your security chiefs?”

Recall that the appeal court had discharged and acquitted the IPOB leader of all charges levelled against him by the Nigerian government.

However, the Supreme Court reversed the judgment while ordering the Federal High Court to revisit the trial.
