Federal Government declares Christmas, New Year holiday
The Nigerian government has declared Monday 25th, Tuesday 26th December, 2023 and Monday, January 1st, 2024, as public holidays to mark Christmas and New Year Day celebrations, respectively.
Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, while making the declaration on behalf of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led Federal Government felicitates with Christians and all Nigerians at home and in the Diaspora.
This was contained in a statement on Friday in Abuja by the Director Overseeing Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Interior, Dr Peter Egbodo.
The Minister, in the statement, told Nigerians that the Federal Government, led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, would continue to implement effective measures to protect lives and property.
Tunji-Ojo further admonished all citizens to remain focused, stressing that the year 2024 will be a better year with the Renewed Hope agenda of the President.
“The Minister wishes all Nigerians especially Christians a happy Christmas a peaceful and prosperous New Year celebration,” the stated said.
