Nigerian military neutralises terrorists in Borno air raids
Some armed terrorists in the Ajigin and Banki Junction areas of Borno State met their waterloo as the air component of the joint military task force, Operation Hadin Kai, descended heavily on the insurgents.
Director of Public Relations and Information at the Nigerian Air Force, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet said this in a statement.
He explained that the terrorists were taken down in two in two major air strikes on November 8 and November 11.
He also stated that three of the gun trucks were hit, as demonstrated by the dense black smoke and fire that emitted from them following the strike. The last gun truck was seen fleeing the strike site.
“The fleeing truck was subsequently tailed for about 26km until it disappeared under a tree but was struck and observed to be on fire with no sign of movement at the location. The destruction of the four gun trucks, along with the occupants, effectively degraded the capability of the terrorists to attack friendly forces and locals within the area,” he stated.
