On Monday, the Deputy Governor of Edo State, Mr Philip Shaibu was locked out of his office at the state’s government house in Benin.
Mr Shaibu arrived at the office gate to resume work for the week after leaving it on Friday for weekend vacation, but to his surprise, the deputy governor found the gate locked with a chain and padlock.
“Up till now, I don’t have any official communication that I should relocate. The only people that have official communication are my civil servants.
The civil servants have official communication but I don’t. As I am speaking to you now, I am standing by the gate,” Shaibu said speaking to a yet-to-be-identified person on phone.
The deputy governor and his aides were said to have waited for about an hour before leaving the spot.
