Done deal! Nigeria’s Alex Iwobi joins Fulham from Everton
Nigeria and Everton midfielder Alex Iwobi has joined another Premier League club, Fulham, in a deal which could reach £22m.
The 27-year-old Super Eagles’ attacking midfielder joined Everton from Arsenal in the summer of 2019 and made 123 league appearances for the Toffees, scoring six times.
He signed a five-year deal with Fulham as he links back up with his former Everton boss Marco Silva.
Iwobi said: “I’m buzzing, I just can’t wait to get started.”
“Marco Silva spoke to me about the ambitions of the Club, and I’m on board. Hopefully, I can bring something to the Club.”
Fulham’s vice-chairman and director of football operations, Tony Khan added: “I’m happy to welcome Alex Iwobi to Fulham! He’s an exciting and versatile player whom we’ve admired for some time.
“He has experience in the Premier League and international competition with Nigeria. We’re excited that Alex has joined us on a long-term contract, and we believe that he’ll make a valuable contribution to Marco’s squad!”
Fulham has aso far added the likes of Calvin Bassey, Timothy Castagne, Raul Jimenez and Adama Traore in the summer window
The London club currently ranked 12 on the Premier League table with four points after three matches.
