Shettima receives bride for Barau’s son in Kano

Today, Vice President Kashim Shettima served as Wali (bride representative), who received wife for son of the Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau Jibrin.

The wedding ceremony, held after the Friday Jum’ah prayers at the Isyaka Rabiu Central Mosque, Goron Dutse, Kano, was graced by many dignitaries, including Senate Leader Godswill Akpabio, Mr Peter Obi, and others.

Abdullahi Barau’s (the groom’s) hand was tied in marriage with his soulmate, Bilkisu Aliyu Sani Madaki, daughter of Rep. Aliyu Sani Madaki, the Deputy Minority Leader of the House of Representatives.

“VP Shettima, on behalf of the groom’s family, took the marriage oath and presented N500,000 as dowry, just as Speaker Abbas, upon accepting on behalf of the bride’s family, gave out her hand in marriage.

“Others who attended the event included Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, State Governors, National Assembly Principal Officers, Ministers Designate, Senators and Members of the House of Representatives, former Governors, and members of the Kano Executive Council, among others.
