The much anticipated 2023/24 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season kick-off date has been postponed.
The apex inter football club competition in Nigeria was earlier scheduled to start Saturday, August 26.
A new kick-off date has now been fixed for September 8-10, 2023.
An official confirmed that ” It is true that the NPFL kickoff date has been moved by two weeks from the initial August 26 date at the instance of the NPFL board.
“This is to give Propel, the streaming platform enough time to concretize plans with a telecoms network for flawless streaming of NPFL games in the new season.”
The draw for the league match schedules will be held on 17 August in Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial capital.
