Gov Yahyah confirms district, village heads appointees
Gombe governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has confirmed the appointment of district and village heads for five emirates and traditional councils.
The approval is in line with the power conferred on the governor to appoint and depose Emirs and Chiefs under the creation of Emirates, Districts, Villages and Wards.
Prof. Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, the secretary to the state governor, unveiled this in a statement on Saturday, August 12, 2023.
He stated, “The appointees of Gona Emirate include: Nasiru Saidu Ahmed (Garko), Usman Idrisa Aliyu (Lafiya Mango), Mohammed Abubakar ( Kalshingi), Bello Hassan (Lawanti), Dahiru Abdulkadir Abdussalam (Amada) and Abubakar Muhammad (Shongo).
“Those appointed as village heads under Gona Emirate are: Lawan Sintali Tukulma (Garin Modibbo), Bashar Maikudi Manu (Tumfure North), Magaji Adamu (Njomari), Ibrahim Gurama Mohammed (Yankari), Dauda Tafida Bomala (Bomala), Abba Haruna (Tumfure South) and Abdullahi Lamido Umar (Lawanti). Others are: Abubakar Daudu Muhammad (Dagarawo), Abubakar Muhammad Idrisa (Shongo-Idrisa), Hamisu Abubakar (Kalshingi), Adamu Mohammed (Wuro Tanna) and Aliyu Saidu (Gona).”
“For Pindiga Emirate, the Governor approved the appointment of Barr. Mohammed Magaji Ibrahim as district head of Tai and Abubakar Sarki Ahmed as district head of Kashere South with the following as village heads: Nelson Ishaku Mamuda (Dongol- Alewa), Muhammad Baba Kembu (Jabba), Abubakar Musa Mai-jari (Lambo- Daji), Ismaila Mohammed (Tamfifi), Warrajo Alhaji Liman (Warra), Umaru Muhammadu ( Badara), Muhammadu Jungudo (Hammaseyo), Samaila Uba (Maiganga) and Sanusi Matawalle (Garin Alkali).
“For Dukku Emirate, Mohammed Haruna is appointed district head of Lafiya, while Umaru Mohammed Lamido is the new district head of Bodor in Funakaye Emirate. Similarly, Sulaiman Hamza is appointed district head of Awak in Kaltungo Chiefdom,” the SSG explained.
He maintained that all appointments were to be effected immediately.
