Kylian Mbappe breaks silence on PSG career
French football star, Kylian Mbappe has informed Paris Saint-Germain that he will not be leaving the club this summer irrespective of the situation despite interests from several clubs including big money spenders from Saudi Arabia.
The 24-year-old French football captain and PSG striker – who was born in Paris, France, to a Cameroonian father, has been a subject of transfer discussions after announcing he didn’t intend to sign a new deal and instead wants to leave the team as a free agent next year.
The club said he will be frozen out and will not play until his contract expires next season.
Mbappe and the club are locking horns over the failure of the club to recruit world class players including Robert Lewandowski and Bernardo Silva as he was made to believe.
PSG received a £258 million bid from Saudi giant, Al-Hilal last month but Mbappe turned down the one-year deal.
The French side believe Mbappe has already committed to join Real Madrid on a free transfer next summer.
Real Madrid, according to reports, see the player as the perfect replacement for Karim Benzema who left the team at the end of this season.
Meanwhile, Marca reported that PSG has removed the striker’s image from the Parc des Princes Stadium and that the team shop has stopped selling his “7” jersey as relationship between the player and his club continue to nosedive.
