Going? Bayern Munich agree record deal with Tottenham for Harry Kane

German football giant, Bayern Munich have agreed to pay close to £100 million to recruit England captain Harry Kane from Tottenham.

Bayern Munich are willing to pay £86 million upfront for Kane, with add-ons pushing the deal close to £100 million, a club record.

Kane has one year left on his contract with no indication that he will renew it. His current club felt agreeing to a move will be the option for the English team despite indications that Kane is not in hurry to move. Failure to sell him now means Tottenham will lose him for free next year.

The striker is Tottenham’s all-time leading scorer with 280 goals in 435 appearances.

Earlier this summer, Kane was linked with Manchester United until Bayern made him their major focus.

Kane has won the Premier League Golden Boot three times – in 2015-16, 2016-17 and 2020-21 – since making his debut for the club in 2012 but has not won a major trophy with club or country.

He will be joining a Bayern side, managed by former Chelsea coach, Thomas Tuchel. The club won the Bundesliga for the 33rd time last season, their 11th in a row, and have also sealed the Champions League titles six times and the German Cup 20 times.
