Exceptional Nigerian lady bags two master’s degrees in maths, celebrates unique achievement at US university

Fatima Abdulwaheed Akinola, an exceptional Nigerian lady and great mathematician, has earned two master’s degrees from two different US universities within a limited timeframe of two years.

Fatima 42, who had earlier broken a 42-year-old history of Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, as the first first-class female graduate in Mathematics, went ahead to Marshall University in the United States to further her education and earned a Master of Arts degree in Mathematics with a perfect grade score of 4.0/4.0. Thereafter, she opted for another master’s degree at the University of Florida to achieve her goal.

Fatima shares her story on LinkedIn, “And so it begins! I came into the US two years ago, with a goal!!! Further my education as far as I could. Started with a masters degree and excelled at it! Today, I begin the next journey in my academic sojourn! I can only hope that it goes great as well.”

She exclaimed, “Master of Science, Mathematics! I’m happy to share that I’ve completed my second masters at University of Florida! This, coupled with my first masters Masters of Art, Mathematics), would mean that I have confidently mastered the “Arts and Science” of Mathematics!!! Cheers.”
