Alvan Ikoku Federal College of Education sets for upgrade to federal university

The Alvan Ikoku Federal College of Education (AIFCE) in Owerri is set to be upgraded to a Federal University of Education.

Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma stated this while receiving a delegation team from the Federal Ministry of Education on Friday, July 14, 2023.

According to him, the visiting team came for the inspection of facility availability and the resource persons required for the Institution’s upgrade to a full-fledged university and the smooth running of degree programmes.

He expressed his satisfaction and gratitude for President Tinubu’s administration’s efforts to hasten the conversion process.

“The Federal Government’s magnanimity in converting the institution to her current status as a Federal University of Education, is a gesture so dear to Ndi Imo and we will support all relevant agencies in the education sector for the smooth commencement of degree programmes in the institution,” Uzodinma said.
