Ramon Adedoyin, a well-known hotel owner, has been sentenced to death by hanging for the murder of Timothy Adegoke, a former student of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.

The tragic incident occurred between November 5 and 7, 2021, at Hilton Hotel in Ile-Ife.

Alongside Adedoyin, two of his staff members, Adeniyi Aderogba and Kazeem Oyetunde, were also found guilty and sentenced for the same offense.

During the trial, Chief Judge Adepele Ojo, who presided over the State High Court in Osun, carefully considered the circumstantial evidence presented.

The evidence strongly indicated that Adegoke was killed while staying as a guest at Adedoyin’s hotel.

However, three of the accused staff members were acquitted and discharged by Justice Adepele Ojo.

The seventh defendant will receive her sentencing on Wednesday, following pleas from the prosecution and defense counsels.
