David Beckham Knighted at Windsor Castle
Former England captain and global football icon David Beckham has officially been knighted by King Charles III in recognition of his remarkable contributions to football, philanthropy, and British society.
The 50-year-old sports legend, who was named in the King’s Birthday Honours earlier this year, received the prestigious title of Sir during an investiture ceremony at Windsor Castle on Tuesday, November 4, 2025.
Beckham, who earned 115 international caps and captained the England national team for six years, described the honour as one of the proudest moments of his life.
“I couldn’t be prouder,” he said. “I’m lucky enough to have travelled around the world and all people want to talk to me about is our monarchy. It makes me proud.
A celebrated figure both on and off the pitch, Beckham’s career spans clubs including Manchester United, Real Madrid, LA Galaxy, and Paris Saint-Germain. Beyond football, he is widely admired for his humanitarian work, notably as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador since 2005.
