Fubara, Wike Attend Burial Ceremony in Rivers

Amid ongoing political tensions in Rivers State, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, and the suspended Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, were both present at the burial of Wike’s uncle in Rumuepirikom, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area on Saturday.
The burial ceremony, which drew the attention of political observers and residents alike, took place just days after renewed attempts to reconcile the protracted crisis rocking the state’s political leadership.
Also in attendance was the suspended Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Martins Amaewhule, alongside several other dignitaries and political associates.
The event marked a rare public appearance of the key figures at the center of the Rivers political conflict, prompting speculation about whether their shared presence signals a potential thaw or merely a momentary truce.
