Viral Video Sparks Outrage: NPF Condemns Officers’ Conduct, Orders Swift Disciplinary Action

The Nigeria Police Force has strongly condemned the unprofessional and unethical behaviour of some of its officers caught on camera receiving money from a Chinese national. The video, which has since gone viral, has triggered public concern and widespread criticism, prompting immediate disciplinary measures from police authorities.
In a press release issued on Thursday, the Force described the conduct of the officers as a gross violation of its established ethics, standards, and core values.
“The actions of the officers do not represent the established ethics, standards, and core values of the Nigeria Police Force,” the statement read. “The Force has zero tolerance for such unprofessional behaviour and other forms of misconduct, which undermine public trust and confidence.”
The officers involved have already been identified and are currently undergoing disciplinary proceedings, according to the release.
In addition to addressing the misconduct, the Force also issued a stern warning to individuals and organizations who utilize police services for personal protection, such as escorts and guards. It urged them to avoid actions that could tarnish the image of the Police or compromise the professionalism of its personnel.
“The Nigeria Police Force hereby cautions individuals and organizations privileged to the services of Police personnel… to desist from any act capable of degrading the integrity of its officers and bringing the Force to disrepute,” the statement concluded.
The statement was signed by ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, mnipr, mipra, fCAI, the Force Public Relations Officer at the Force Headquarters in Abuja.
The Police have reaffirmed their commitment to professionalism, accountability, and restoring public trust, assuring that officers found guilty of misconduct will face appropriate consequences.
