President John Mahama has reassured Ghanaians of his administration’s unwavering commitment to economic stability and recovery, emphasizing strategic measures and international collaborations as key drivers of progress.
Speaking at the Chinese Lantern Festival Gala, Mahama highlighted the resilience of the Ghanaian people and underscored the crucial role of partnerships, particularly with China, in fostering sustainable development.
Drawing inspiration from the festival’s symbolism, he likened Ghana’s economic journey to the lantern’s message of hope amid darkness. “The world today faces many challenges—economic uncertainties, global conflicts, climate change, and emerging health concerns—yet the light of this festival reminds us that even in times of darkness, hope must never be lost,” he stated.
Acknowledging Ghana’s economic struggles, Mahama assured that his government was taking proactive steps to steer the nation toward recovery. “Ghana, like many other nations, is working hard to address economic and social challenges, and we’re grateful for the support of our friends and partners, including China,” he noted.
The president emphasized collaboration and unity as essential pillars in overcoming economic hardships, stressing that Ghana’s revitalization efforts hinge on global alliances. “As we move forward, we must continue to embrace cooperation and mutual respect, ensuring that the benefits of our partnership are shared by all our people,” he said.
Expressing gratitude for China’s support in infrastructure, trade, and technology, Mahama reaffirmed his government’s commitment to diplomatic and economic engagements, urging citizens to remain hopeful and dedicated to national progress.
