US election: Kamala Harris campaign rains 39m naira on Uber Eats as $1.5B election loss sparks criticism
Filings from the Federal Election Commission reveal that Kamala Harris’s campaign spent $24,000, representing over 39 million naira, on Uber Eats and ice cream during its final day.
thalongside $2.6 million on private jet travel, raising questions about financial management.
The campaign allocated $14,974 on food deliveries and $8,929 on ice cream, including purchases from Sweet Lucy’s Ice Cream and Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams.
Additional spending included a $6,000 “site fee” for a board game café event and $12 million on private jet travel, with $2.2 million spent between October 1-17 alone.
The revelations come amid internal Democratic criticism following the party’s decisive November 5 election loss. California Congressman Ro Khanna stated, “We didn’t emphasize the economy… Instead, we spent a billion dollars having concerts all over America. I mean, it was ridiculous.”
The campaign’s overspending has reportedly left it $20 million in debt, raising concerns about unpaid staff wages.
