Ugandan President, Ethiopia Chief of Staff pledge robust defense cooperation for regional stability
Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni has highlighted the crucial role of continued defense cooperation between Uganda and Ethiopia in promoting peace and security in the Eastern Africa region.
President Museveni’s remarks came during a meeting with the Chief of Staff of the Ethiopian National Defense Forces (ENDF), Field Marshal Birhanu Jula, in Kampala.
President Museveni emphasized the longstanding bilateral relations and deep friendship between the two countries.
Museveni noted that Uganda and Ethiopia have shared a bond that has transcended generations, underlining the historical ties that have united the nations.
The Ugandan leader stressed the importance of sustaining joint efforts in defense and peace initiatives.
He affirmed that the ongoing partnership is essential for regional stability and development.
On his part, Field Marshal Birhanu Jula stressed the significance of the strategic relations and defense cooperation between Ethiopia and Uganda.
Jula praised the collaborative efforts, stating, “The cooperation between our two nations in the defense sector is crucial for establishing peace and security in the region.”
Both leaders agreed on the necessity of enhancing their cooperative endeavors to ensure continued peace and stability in Eastern Africa, reinforcing their commitment to regional security and development.
