President El-Sisi rejoices with re-elected Mauritanian president
President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi of Egypt has congratulated Mauritania’s incumbent President, Mohamed Ould Ghazouani, on his re-election.
President al-Sisi took to his official Facebook page to extend his congratulations to President Ghazouani on his re-election as President of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania.
He prayed for Ghazouani’s success in serving his country and its Arab and African milieu, in light of his current chairmanship of the African Union.
President al-Sisi expressed his hopes for enhanced cooperation between the two countries across all fields to achieve development and prosperity.
President Mohamed Ould Ghazouani secured his re-election for a second term after winning the national vote held on Saturday. He emerged victorious in the first round with a comfortable margin, garnering 56.1% of the votes against his main opponent, Biram Dah Abeid, who received 22.1%.
