The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has firmly rejected allegations leveled against it by the Permanent Representative of Sudan, dismissing claims of involvement in aggression or destabilization within Sudanese territories.

Lana Zaki Nusseibeh, UAE’s Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs, who refuted these accusations, emphasized the absence of any factual basis and highlighted it is a contradiction of the strong relations shared between the two nations.

In a letter addressed to the UN Security Council, posted on its official platform on X, the UAE dismissed the allegations as “baseless” and “unfounded,” stating that they lacked credible evidence to support such claims and adding that it was an attempt to divert attention away from the urgent humanitarian crisis unfolding in Sudan.

Lana Zaki Nusseibeh further stressed that the UAE’s letter to the Security Council, sent on April 21, highlighted the malicious intent behind spreading misleading information, asserting that such actions aim to evade accountability and undermine international efforts aimed at addressing the humanitarian plight in Sudan.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated the UAE’s unwavering commitment to facilitating a peaceful resolution to the Sudanese conflict, affirming its dedication to continue working with all concerned to support any process aimed at putting Sudan on the political path to attaining a permanent settlement and achieving a national consensus to form a civilian-led government.

However, the UAE expressed its disappointment at the persistence of hostilities despite widespread international appeals for a ceasefire.
